Eco-Artistry-Best out of Fabric Waste Competition, Mizoram Pollution Control Board

Mizoram Pollution Control Board, the Implementing agency of Environment Education Programme (EEP) has organised a competition on “Eco-Artistry-Best out of Fabric Waste” for Mizoram College and University Level Eco-Clubs on 13th March, 2025 at Central YMA Hall, Tuikhuahtlang, Aizawl, Mizoram. A total of 103 students participated from 10 colleges.

The competition on Eco-Artistry-Best out of Fabric Waste was focused on the theme of Mission LiFE - “Reduce Waste”. A total of 103 students participated from 10 colleges. The students were encouraged to show their craft skills and creativity in making useful items out of fabric waste. The students participated enthusiastically and presented different items made out of fabric wastes such as tote bag, purse, pillow, pillow case, throw pillow, floor cleaning mop, jewellery box, door mat, etc. The items were presented before the three officials appointed as judges for the competition by the Board, namely Mrs. Lalhruaitluangi, Deputy Director, Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Department, Govt. of Mizoram, Mrs. Zorinpuii, Senior Teacher, Govt. Mizo High School and Er. P.C. Lalmuanpuii, Environmental Engineer, Mizoram Pollution Control Board. The students were highly praised by the judges for their efforts and creativity of using the fabric waste in a productive way.
